i am jacob ‘jackpot’ mackin and i’ve called san diego home my entire life. my high school photo class led me to pick up the camera in 2021 and capture my cities streets on film for 3 years. after finding local show flyers and the underground shoegaze scene of san diego i dedicated myself to sds records and together we create a much needed outlet for bands and creatives alike with photographic and video production.

my work is inspired by the music that i consume and the directors that i love. the years between the iphone and the blackberry. when music was on tv.

this passion of mine has presented amazing opportunities such as working with eric wilson of sublime, a handshake and a “that’s fire” from denzel curry, chatting with jacob duarte of narrow head about my physical media that he had and enjoyed, working numerous times with london hudson son of the legendary guitarist slash and most notably creating a lasting friendship with the band misfire sd.
